Hey it's x'mas! and time for a x'mas entry!

So Friday was the class chalet. We met up at the mall next to pasir ris (oops i seldom go east) and had lunch with many classmates. Had pig organ's soup... it was good!

So we set off to the chalet site. Fetched general sam and went our room. Wahh i think it's a ripoff for 199. the place was so freaking small and run-down. Bleargh!

After that wilson qihan and i went escape (though i was planning to go on sat). Tickets damn cheap only 6 bucks! The rainbow was pretty fun, and i finally dare to raise my hands during flight... woot!! Eventually i went 6 times (qihan counted) and got immune to that... lol. Pirate ship was not bad too =D

Haunted house was a disappointment. Really. It really wasn't much of a scare, overestimated it perhaps.... Tried some station game... won nothing and nearly lost my watch tmd... Tze was quite gd at those stuff hehe

Go-kart was REALLY fun! Like the racing part... wow. Damn nice. 1st time i tried i was around 2nd, and was wanting to overtake tzewei at the last bend (hehe that part is quite sick) but i got stuck!! tmd so i was last >< 2nd time not much better, but no hiccups

The bbq was nice, i cooked some too! hehe got chicken wings, chicken satay, beef satay (a lot), otah etc... nice!

Played a round of pool wif tzwei and xbox wif deshawn... quite fun! but i cldn't play pool later as i din bring ic... zzzz. So i just return chalet to play truth or dare with the guys upstairs. hehe more scandalous stuff revealed! though lucky i wasn't asked any.... heheheh

Played a lot mor ecards with the same people, was quite lame. They watched scary movie 4. Sorry to dampen their mood, but i think its just a spastic movie.... i mean movies like johnny little are spastic too, but at least it does resemble a movie, and the humor is slightly classier. Scary movie is just an agglomeration of spastic incidents poking fun at some decent movies... oh pls it's more of youtube material okie?

So around 4 am people were getting to sleep, but i still went on playing cards etc. Learnt poker!! fun!! hehe. The mahjong poeple are damn hardcore, play from afternoon till early morning and still never stop wtf!

But around 6am buay tahan, so slept at while. When i woke up, many people left liao. eventually left at around 9 plus...

Went wif ser zheng to wild wild wet. It was quite fun, but the place was a bit small... but ahem... nvm

Oh well it was pretty much like the swimming complex in jurong easst (where ive visited a no of times) so the rest wasn't that exciting. And ser zheng just refused to try the samsung thing which looks really exciting (heard from jessica yeo that it's the star attraction lol).... so we finished pretty early

Ate kfc, and took a long long train home. Was damn shaged. just showered and slept till like 9. Chatted a bit and slept at 11.... wow that was damn long sleep

So sunday was another funkey dday cos we went to the zoo!!!!! hahaha there was a spastic incident at choa chu kang where i nearly got lost in the most spastic fashion.... ROFL!

Anyway the zoo was nice, really! And the weather was great (until it rained ><) My sis loved the animals, and yea the animals are cute! hahaha so fun. And ate my 3rd kfc in 2 days... bleargh that's unhealthy.

So i am pretty tired today but feeling good, cos there's just this contagious x'mas festive mood that is very heartening and makes people happie!

Well today i got myself involved in an amusing bangla incident.

Basically vanessa gave me elise's no (and it was wrong), so i tried sms-ing the wrong person.

So the sms to elise was supposedly: Hey do you want to XXX

Reply: Hello? Who are you
and the reply was from a different phone no (could be diverted to this no i realised later)

Me: Just who are you??
i tot may be a prank or something

Reply: Hey I am balaji!!
no disrespect or anyting, but it seemed like a prank or sth

So deciding that sms could be a problem, i tried calling elise's no.

And there was this indian guy, and i tot it was another prank... the convo was really funny man, until i realised balaji actually exists... lol

But since it's elise's no i decided to call again, and it was the same person, so he said sth along the line of : are you playing a prank or sth. trying to be funny issit? So i apologized like the bangla in the infamous bangla soundclip

Life's pretty sian, and with the incessant downpour, life just seems even more boring.... hope class chalet/bbq and escape outing wont be affected...

1. Eugene Lee is sooooooooooooooooo so sweet. Just to keep up the rumors ;D

2. I decided to withdraw from ydsp. I'm just too tired these days and i think i deserve a rest.

3. I am facing insomnia these days too, perhaps explaining my lethargic nature. Always try to sleep at around 12, then cannot then get up do some crap and sleep at 2 am agin. this sucks.

4. Ytd it was the same thing, couldn't fall asleep. So i watched Initial D for the 2nd time. I think it's a really well produced film, and the producers really imbued an element of "cool-ness" in it. And i like the music effects too... very very nice.

5. i am getting fat. In serious need of workout, but i'm just too lazy and tired. Having inertia doesn't help either. Neither does the buffet last saturday ><

6. My favorite team Chelsea Fc just beat eveton 3-2 last weekend in a really exhilarating match, what a showcase! 8 points behind not long ago, just 2 points now... And the goals were fabulous. what a spectacle!

7. School's starting soon. And i haven't gotten anything ready yet!! The admin seems just as lazy as RI's.... bleargh

Oh well today i went for the first day of my YDSP thingy. wasn't too gd. the prof wasn't too happy. But some funny shit happend before i left.

1. Very lixing-esque incident when i was looking for the 96bus-stop.

Me: Hi do you know where's the 96 bus-stop.
Girl 1: Erm... i think it's around there *points* where are u taking to.
Me: Clementi
Girl 2: Where's he going?
Girl 1: Clementi.
Then Girl 2 like become freaking shocked and gasped in a super exaggerated manner.
Erpz.... it's only clementi relax man...

2. Embarrassing incident.

I was running to catch the 96 bus and i did it. Then i quickly fished out my wallet. But hands were slippery due to rain and the wallet juz slipped out of my hands.

And guess what? They flew to under the skirt of a girl.

Not just a normal girl. But a girl wearin' miniskirt and looking real hot.... so i bent down to take my wallet.... bleargh so embarrassing

3. Rocker busdriver

And becos it's raining, the traffic jam was atrocious. Then the bus uncle juz tried to watch the tv mobile of the bus infront, squinting his eyes here and there! lol

Then this busdriver turned even more high. So when we reached the bus-stop, there was a car blocking. And he just turned hysterical. He just horned non-stop, like 50 times!! wtf. But it's damn funny and everyone was staring at him.

And when the car finally left, he said "Yes!" in a damn childish way and started cursing the car HAHAHAHAHA

Basically i have just found out from wilson that some bastards (presumably under the instructions of the school admin) have taken out our locks and taken away (or disposed of) the stuff in our lockers....

And YES, this is what makes me fucking pissed.

Firstly, I do not comprehend why the school has the rights to open up our lockers. For F$%k's sake we are paying the full school fees and amenities till the end of the year, more precisely till 31st December, so I do not see a problem with keeping my stuff in the locker until that date. If the school cannot provide a reasonable explanation, this actually equates to robbery or looting, whereby our possessions are taken without our knowledge from a guarded location.

Secondly, it is the nature of this whole thing that piss me off. It just reeks of TOTAL inefficiency! I believe the school admin is well aware of what is happening, but they are just too lazy to inform us. I mean, everyone has seen how the admin practically screws up everything, including our PDR and stuff. To me, it's reasonable for the lockers to be cleared (maybe for the construction works) but they must at least have the F$%king decency to INFORM us. Can you imagine if you renting a flat and one day the landlord just open your room and throw out your stuff without even informing you!

And fucks, you may have no problem if you do not care about whatever is inside your locker - that's your problem. But others DO have valuable or prized possessions in their lockers. People may have kept stuff like cameras, FHMs etc in their lockeres!! And for people like me, its the other seemingly worhless but precious stuff which may have been thrown away! Like ser zheng bought me a boat from Vietnam, it was inside the locker. Like 1J bought me their class T-shirt with my name on it, it was inside the locker too. Like the soccer boots that Rongbing lent me, inside too! WTF man

I am not proclaiming that all indonesians are bad (of course not), or inciting any racial concerns. All i want to do is to educate people about history so that we do not repeat such unfortunate incidents. NRP Synposium

Woot today is NRP synposium, and that marks the end of my nrp journey.

So early in the morning, i was first struggling to get up. But i finally looked thru my slides (after only confirmin' them yesterday.... was in ntu ytd till 9+)

Went there. Was early. And found more things to cut down. We all seem rather nervous and unpreparaed... dots

So finally it was our turn to present. It went fairly well. Although i just have stage fright and totally forgot everything !!!! wth la!!! bopian just spoke what i could la...

But 1. the results were impressive 2. our presentation was good. That prof lim guy was calling us the future bill gates... lols.... so after ours i was just stoning. And i was so hungry (forgot to eat breakfast) and was gobbling the tea food, *almost* beating ms low siew hsien... but she's too imba la first plate already own me haha

Anyway eventually we got gold, which was rather expected. Cos really a hell lot of teams got gold. And we got 90 marks from the judges (compared to avg 70), but we did not win the big prize. ewwww. But tbh the HCI grand winner was really a very very excellent group, honestly. The presentation was great, the visual aids were wonderful, and the results are good too.... one of the most imba presentations i've seen oO

Went home after that, was pretty tired... anyway i think i've decided on my grad nite attire... after all that crap here and there about coats, i have changed from my previous stance of buying a white coat to buying NO coat at all... just save myself ALL the trouble bleargh... yea grad niteeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~

Anyway today was a rather boring day. Class admin stuff, then year head's assembly, which was pretty amusing. Din go out with those peopple for lan as i had to meet 2 teachers... eventually met neither.

Went Delifrance to eat. the chocolate crossaint not bad =D

So went home, played a bit of the new FM 7 and took a nap.

Dentist. After that met my mum for shopping at orchard. We shopped at Kinokuniya and Borders for quite some time. Anyway kino names does not sound logical. Cos kuni is country and ya is shop.... lol

So i realised that books in Singapore are DAMN ex. Basically we bought only 2 main books, one small cookbook and 1 cd. The price? >120 bucks... ex rite? Had dinner and went home

Okie blog about what happend today

First was sch... quite sian. Results not really gd but i'm not complainining. Well what i always feel is that happiness is due to expectations and productivity. People who are productive (pro) may be unhappy while people with low expectations can be very happy? So why make urself unhappy??

At first he and kwok playing dota, so i was playing fifa street.. But somehow can't load so play fifa and world cup, though i was myself pretty sian ofthe game

Lol so went back. They just finishing first dota game. Joined for 2nd game. wow i long tme never play dota liao. Cos i uninstalled wc just before ct. then recently to reinstall comp, i delted all those nocdkey , patch , replays and other stuff..

So my team was tze, kwok, yj and mysef. Other team was clem, stan , cm, andy.

I took sniper, and at first tried middle lane. Of course i noob mah, even cm and andy owned me like some shit. Basically andy just nova me and dragon knight (cm) tried to finish me off. Lucky cm likes to gl sometimes, can kill me liao but run away haha =P

Anyway wilson's sister had to use the computer for some damn important stuff (like blogging) so we went to play pool afterwards lor.

Well i am quite enthu about pool but i just suck at it, the technique, style etc. For FFA my average is like 1-2 points lor... ><

And got this time i hit the ball it flew... and over the fence... and into the neighbor's house. the white ball spoilt, really paiseh ah wilson. But at least the broken pot wasn't caused by the ball as initially expected

Well, obviously there's some furor on the net (specifically the singapore blogosphere) on this 18yo gal called Wee Shu Min from RJC. This was what she posted on her blog that caused the controversy.

I do not wish to argue against her propositions, for i would just be spiralling into a abyss of dispute and controversies. But i would just like to say that i am rather disturbed, and disgusted by her condescending tone.

I do not dispute the fact that she's probably smart, whether this refers to exam-smart is another issue. But if all that years of education and cultivations has only bred a perosn of such calibre, you do have to worry about the fate of Singapore.

It's sad that she can't emphasize with others ; sad that she can dismiss and deride others with such ease, and using derogatory terms like "crackpot" and "leech" ; sad that an elite education has infused in her such a skewed and retarded perception. People like them are just cooped up in their ivory towers. still remember the "peanuts" incident?

Rafflesians just cannot get any brighter...

mom's friend sent her some blog post by some bleeding stupid 40-year old singaporean called derek wee (WHY do all the idiots have my surname why?!) whining about how singapore is such an insecure place, how old ppl (ie, 40 and above) fear for their jobs, how the pool of foreign "talent" (dismissively chucked between inverted commas) is really a tsunami that will consume us all (no actually he didn't say that, he probably said Fouren Talern Bery Bad.), how the reason why no one wants kids is that they're a liability in this world of fragile ricebowls, how the government really needs to save us from inevitable doom but they aren't because they are stick-shoved-up-ass elites who have no idea how the world works, yadayadayadayada.

i am inclined - too much, perhaps - to dismiss such people as crackpots. stupid crackpots. the sadder class. too often singaporeans - both the neighborhood poor and the red-taloned socialites - kid themselves into believing that our society, like most others, is compartmentalized by breeding. ridiculous. we are a tyranny of the capable and the clever, and the only other class is the complement.

sad derek attracted more than 50 comments praising him for his poignant views, joining him in a chorus of complaints that climax at the accusation of lack of press freedom because his all-too-true views had been rejected by the straits times forum. while i tend to gripe about how we only have one functioning newspaper too, i think the main reason for its lack of publication was that his incensed diatribe was written in pathetic little scraps that passed off as sentences, with poor spelling and no grammar.

Screwed Up Day

Well... today was a rather screwed up day

Results wise shouldn't talk too much about it. Did not do well for the papers as expected. Chem was missing the key words and being a spastic at PQRS question (found difference but forgot to minus off). Math was pure careless, and i think i got record no of crosses on 1 page (6).

So now onto the screwed up parts. So i left halfway thru math. Went by front gate and wtf, it's locked... bo pian go side gate lor... then i went there, just missed 156. Plan spoiled.

So there was this old aunty there who was trying to "advise" me. She's talking like she takes 156 everyday and knows it so damn well so asked her some questions. where's crown center - dunno. where does 156 go to eventually - dunno. Is there a 74 busstop - dunno. In the end (after 25min) the bus finally came, and realised she alighted at the next stop.. wth

And my schedule had been pretty fked up now... so i was thinking what to do. Din bring enough money for taxi so can't take there. So i was thinking maybe take 156 to clementi. In the end i decided to take to the crown center and take 74 from there....

And when i alighted, i realised crown center is tzewei's house there.... lol?? i tot street directory say 156 si the only bus so i tot its some crap place. Should have taken 157 la, wait shorter and travel shorter.... sianz... so i was predicting that if i can take 74 then, i will be just on time.....

Of course it's screwed up, and 74 arrived 10min later. I was thinking what to do... so i asked bus driver. He say will take 25min to reach dover. wth... street directory say 12min... sian so i decided to take a taxi after all. the bus driver told me to alight next stop to take taxi by holland drive...

Alighted at next stop.... smart rite?? So i got onto a cab. And the cabbie din go by holland drive... rofl... anyway finally got to that place after so much drama. And people were sayinig i am early. Thanks

虽然用华文写博客，让一些人嗤之以鼻，如苏汁圆，但这样毕竟能练习华文，以应付即将来临的O水准考试。

今天学校里也蛮无聊的。先是一场无比无聊的讲座，关于面孔护理。讲者真的十分“阿连”，也时常肉麻当有趣，真让人感到颇为恶心。所以听到一半，我便和好友溜走，去莱初“石头”一下。哈哈，也在那里碰到好几张熟悉的面孔，真所谓英雄所见略同，要PON一起PON。

之后，又遇到BALA和MAHAPAN，所以我们就在莱初的走廊踢球，也蛮好玩的。就是后来被老师捉到，所以就停了。我们就去INDIAN LANGUAGE ROOM踢球。他们站主场优势（HOMEGROUND ADVANTAGE…〕所以踢得很猛。

华文课，和4G一起上。其实我觉得杨老师今天真的老羞成怒。像她平时，有什么事都诙谐地看待，付之一笑，可今天大大不同，态度明显有差。她说的一句话，让我印象极为深刻，大致是这样：RI其实就是金玉其外，败絮其中。外面人都以为RI的学生很好，因为他们往往看的是那些出类拔萃，参加比赛的。像你们这些没参加比赛的，他们才看不到你们丑陋的一面。

真是一针见血。显然，针对的是4G的一些学生。其实说句老实话，我也是一样，不太看不起4G的一些同学。读书不好没关系，但他们有些态度恶劣、目光短浅、俗不可耐，与社会的渣滓有何不同？问题是，他们还是没有羞耻之心，还是夜郎自大的，嚣嚣张张的。诚如扬老师所说的，这些人就是没有CHARACTER…

华文O水准即将来临，我难免有点焦虑、甚至害怕。

但我还是一样，在复习等方面毫无进展。。。

昨天，伟民要我去他家玩，但因为想在家里歇一会，所以婉拒了。但到下午十分，实在是过分地无聊，所以当智伟问起，便毫不犹豫地前往他家。

先是打了几场DOTA，所实在的我并不是特别喜欢。之后就玩桌球，还倒真的很有趣，玩得十分投入。当然，玩的之余也尽兴地聊天，所以回家时还真的有点依依不舍。

当然，回家后，又是整天“石头”，又烟雾笼罩，出门不佳。有时就找人在线聊聊天。。。

Now, just sitting behind him, it's obvious that he has a lot of white hair already

Well... i mean there's nothing wrong with trying to do well in studies. It is undeniable that in a society like singapore, grades and certs do matter

But when you are overly obsessed with it, and reach a certain degree of hardcoreness, is it worth it?

By being so hardcore, what does it really give you? A 0.20 diff in GPA at the end of the year? Which translates to stress everyday. So what diff will that 0.20 diff in GPA make? Nothing much i guess. But it has probably taken many years off ur lifespan

Let's say you really achieve your ambiton, like enter good uni / get scholarship etc, you will realise that the path of hardcoreness is a never ending one. Just like you have to compete extra hard with students of higher intelligence now to attain the same results, the workplace is the same. In order to compete with higher calibre colleagues, one must be damn hardcore.

So I ask these hardcore people, what's the pot of gold at the end of the tunnel? Unless you have a very clear idea of what it is and how you are going to attain it, i have to say that the path of hardcoreness is a very foolish one.

On one hand, like what has been said by everyone recently, one shd do what he likes and is interested in. For me, i am kinda interested in everyting but if you are talking abt REALLy interested, nothing really intrigue me to that extent... music maybe?

Well... if i can choose any career i want, i prob want to be a political analyst or a football pundit. But if you want ot be PA, there's no future, unless you are in some pro US thhinktank. Football pundit also, unless you tyko get into ESPN or Skysports or sth..

Anyway we went RJC to eat and play cards with the 4D/E ppl.

Stupid Day

Well, two things to say about today... stupid and stupid

Firstly, i was shopping with my parents at west mall.... aiya just some stupid baby stuff. And so i went library to read some things, and i was just sitting at this corner.

What happened was this old hag lookinig really sick and half demented was trying to pry open the locked door (i think it was some emergency exit or sth) and i tot she was really siao (she looked siao enough evne w/o doing that).

The next thing she did was to gesture to me to open it for her. knn fuck her la. Eventually she found out from her friend that the exit was at the other side, and then before she left, she came back to scold me.

It went something like this: aiya you bad boy, never tell me the exit is there. make me run about. no jia jiao

Lol. "siao. fuck u la." though i din actually say it out. I mean its not my problem that she can't even remember where she had entered rite? Nor issit my problem that she really looks genuinely siao and i had really thought that she was trying something funny/crazy.... stupid woman

Yea, and so i was reading lots of stuff. And guess what? I saw the Sunday Times, which reported the 2 winning esays for the Pen Essay Award.

Which is basically a humiliation for me.... after reading and to a certain degree scrutinizing those texts.

The 1st essay is some MGS shit about her dying dog. I know i dun own a dog and blah blah but honestly, it wasn't the least touching. In fact it's childish, the way she was describing her r'ship with her pet... it looked like a typical pri sch essay... and content is shit. Anyway it's the DAY, not PERIOD that changed ur life... bleargh. Language is shit as well... u'll prob concur with me if you read it

The 2nd essay is probably worse.... about a RGS girl who wore braces. for fuck's sake how the fuck does that change your life?!?!?! It's so freakishly lame that it isn't funny anymore. Braces?! lol... Although the language was considerably better than the previous one, i just think the content is lame. It's sheer humiliation to any students who have submitted for this competition.

Which leads me to think that the sch did not actually submit all our essays. Like just dump them at one corner..... i mean if you look at real substance, RI's proabably overflwoing with such budding writers and there's definitely a great essay around (i even felt mine was better than those 2)

Then if you had meant it as a dud contest aka joke, you shld just choose some even lamer shit. I mean even DFC's essay shld edge those 2 in terms of sheer anti-quality and lameness.

6. Comment on whether you think we should prepare for war if we wish to avoid war.

A war is a conflict of arms. Wars have long been intertwined to Man’s history, as a primeval symbol of dominance and supremacy, for the victor in war can boast of his ascendancy and assert his authority over his defeated opponent. The military drumbeat and the bugle call to take up arms, these all reflect a fervent war fanaticism. Yet the violent and mortal nature of war has invoked equally compelling anti-war sentiments.
Are wars inevitable? Is the modern man but a murderous being with a primitive lust for blood and glory on the battlefield? While the purpose of war will always be under moral scrutiny, a novel war theory has arisen in recent times, that preparing for war ultimately helps Man avoid war. An unconventional supposition indeed, but one worthy of debate and discussions. So should we prepare for war to avoid war?
A valid argument for this theory is the possession of nuclear weaponry. When many countries such as France, former USSR and China began acquiring nuclear technology and subsequently nuclear weapons, many feared a nuclear holocaust, especially with the harrowing experiences from Nagasaki and Hiroshima in which human civilizations were reduced to sheer desolation in the blinking of an eye. Yet the interesting observation is that nuclear weapons have kept relative peace among their possessors. As the saying goes, “with power comes responsibilities”, possessing highly lethal weapons has arguably made countries less inclined towards wars and made them more responsible stakeholders of world peace, thereby preventing wars. As long as rogue nations like North Korea do not acquire nuclear weapons, the countries possessing nuclear weapons will be keen to maintain peace and a nuclear war is unlikely to break out in the near future.
However, on the other hand, many also view military build-up as the biggest threat to world peace. To illustrate this point, we should look at the example of the Cold War (1947-1991). While a full scale war did not actually break out between the United States and USSR, the protracted geopolitical, ideological and economic antagonism that existed between these two global superpowers and their allies did make the world more dangerous. The ensuing arms race resulted in a major influx and proliferation of military weapons, which teetered the world closer to war. In fact, the Korean War and Vietnam War were a direct result of the differing political agenda between the United States and USSR, i.e. proxy wars. This shows that wars have not been avoided totally and military build-up will probably result in some form of military clashes.
Nonetheless, war preparation is not confined to the sole purpose of organizing wars. It also acts as a form of deterrence. As US President George W. Bush once described, the role of the military is to “prevent war from happening in the first place.” In fact, the Singapore government seems to follow such a doctrine. Although Singapore is not interested in war, it is constantly preparing itself for war. For instance, the Singapore Army is constantly improving and leveraging its technology and weapon systems, while also procuring some of the most advanced military hardware in the world. All fit male Singaporeans also have to go through a compulsory military training in National Service. This is apparently a deterrence strategy to put off potential aggressors, erecting a psychological barrier.
On the other hand, such maneuvers may send the wrong message across. For example, Japan received fierce criticisms from its neighbors for attempting to revise its constitution and upgrade its self-defense force to a military force. In this case, Japan’s moves do not distinguish self-defense from expansion, therefore causing anxiety and apprehension among its neighbors. While this may only be a domestic military policy and a largely peaceful act, it can have long lasting negative impacts. Japan’s neighbors, including China and Korea, are likely to be perturbed by this act and may seek to upgrade their military capabilities, culminating in a regional arms race. This would also increase tensions on regional flashpoints like the Korean Peninsula and the Taiwan Straits, increasing the possibilities of a war between Japan and its neighbors.
As the saying goes, “failing to prepare is preparing to fail”. Indeed, many believe that preparation for war is the best form of self-defense. History has shown that if a country demonstrates that it is prepared for war anytime to defend itself, it is unlikely to be invaded by other countries. During World War II, the German army swept across most of Western Europe except Switzerland. Why? Because the Swiss militia system comprises civilians who wield rifles and were prepared to defend their homeland to the last bullet. Therefore, the German army decided not to invade Switzerland.
However, there exists only a thin line between preparing for war and actually entering a war, which can be crossed too easily. As Sir John Frederick Maurice put it, “I went into the Army believing that if you want peace you must prepare for war. I now believe that if you prepare thoroughly for war you will get it.” British Prime Minister Tony Blair infamous said in December 2002, “"Sometimes the best way of avoiding war is to be prepared for war if you have to have it". A few months later, his armies were moving into Iraq, on the pretext that Iraq owns weapons of mass destruction which threatens Britain’s security. As Britain was well prepared for war, it was ready to enter war at the slightest provocation, ironically antithetical to its initial objective, i.e. to avoid war. Such is the risk of preparing for war, as one would be overtly inclined to engage in a war.
Also, there are now new elements of unconventional warfare which has added new dimensions to contemporary warfare. A good example will be terrorism, a form of unconventional warfare which seeks to achieve certain political objectives. Firstly, it is not really possible to prepare for war against terrorism, as it is difficult to target and attack a specific group of terrorists. Secondly, countries which are adequately prepared for conventional warfare, such as the United States, are more prone to terrorism, as the terrorists know they are unable to engage that country in open combat.
I believe the cause of war is due to both “hardware” and “software” factors, hardware being the military weaponry and software being the war-mongers and peace-lovers. To avoid war, we must address both factors. If we only focus on preparing for war and upgrading the hardware factor, not only do we fail to avoid war, we are also preparing ourselves for greater devastation and obliteration.

Sianz, i had prelims paper today. Although i was rather ill-prepared, only started studying random stuff from Sunday.

So paper 1. I was just being damn gl, and was probably the only one to chooe 1,4. GL lols. It's like andy qihan and practically everyone chose 2,5.

YYW was screwed up shit. I write halfway then realize i am contradicting myself. Like smile to make people welcome, then write the smiles are fake?!?! lols

And for zuowen, i chose the yilunwen first. Then i was brainstorming halfway then realise no pts to write... erps but no time to change so bo pian continue.

Today was a real boring day.

Sighz wasted my whole day on this thingy. So basically jenit taught us how to do this, and so i was trying to make it. It can be quite fun la haha =D

Budden i wasn't very successful. Jen it made it look so easy. So basically i modified the 1st sample transistor. And i was trying to make the 2nd transistor, but w/o much success. I think the pgoram is very dumb sometimems. Anyway good luck to me, cos i have 39 more nmos to make.... whooopee!!

The title of my post says everything, rest in peace, not RI but RIP

Recently Steve Irwin, the mad croc hunter, died in Australia while filming a documentary. He was swimming over a stingray when its barb pierced his heart, and the venom simply hastened his demise. He was a nice guy, though a bit cranky. Nonetheless, he was a very inspirational figure to many of us, simply becos of his fearlessness, determination to preserve wildlife and his funny antics. I still remembered how i grew up watching his documentaries on snakes, crocs, etc etc. What an irony that he was not killed by a croc but by a normally harmless stingray. Mr. Irwin, rest in peace. Your life may be short, but it has been meaningful. You have entertained and inspired many of us.

Also, i heard from Zoulong today (during NRP) that Yew Zhi Hao, a sec 3 GEP also died recently. It was abrupt. It was shocking. I almost couldn't believe my ears. I had participated in a translation competition with Zhihao just this April. And during the competition, i was sitting beside him, and even asked him how to write zong jiao. And out of the blue, i received news of his death. Apparently he had a fatal brain virus which spread to his heart. And his conditions were aggravated when he played in rain just before teacher's day, causing him to be hospitalised. 5 days later, he died. I just feel so sad, so empty, jsut so shockingly stunned. I talked to zhenxuan just now, who's his sec 3 GEP gd friend.

Today went sch for the pharma course last day. Anyway stayed up until 3 to solo the grp's project.

So was damn shag. And i waited there for like 30min for them , cos all of them were late... zz. at first i was seriously quite pised. First they do so little for presentation. Then still make me wait. But being the nice guy, i just try to heck la. So i told them what to do and gave them script. We roughly reherarsed the skit

So ours was 2nd to present. The skit went fine, for near impromptu one. But cm scrwed up at the last part. Cos it's supposed to end at climax where zhikai consumes subutex. But cm suddenly jump out and cont the thin... lols. Wah hope get distinction la, put in so much effort. But she say most of us got merit.

Thinking of it, all my adv modles are imba hard to get distinctions la. Like you see biodiversity, every get distinction, or get 90++%... o.O. Then my analytical chem also cmi, i mean even ppl like andy/yuanwei/qihan not getting distinction leh. Then NUS geometry... it's the hardest la. I htink our class, only cm can maybe scrap merit or sth... ><. And this one also most ppl get merit.

Anyway after our presentation i was damn shaged liao, and heck abt everything. So i was like stoning thruout the whole thing liao... until the very end of the course. Serious.

Btw, the instructor christine, she talks and behaves 99.999% like my ex english teachere justina tan. Serious, the demeanor, the expressions, the slang, the way she talks and behaves basically... omg. I have NEVER seen 2 ppl so alike before leh...

Teacher - gee, teachers are supposed to be such important figures in our sch lives, guiding us in our academic wrk and also giving us a holistic character education. Look at the RI teachers, so many of them are fucked up beyond redemption... teach bullshit ALL the time... and on the other hand, they dunno us students also. Like some form teachers dun even noe any fuck abt the students in the class...

Workload - I think the workload here is damn fucked up. I am assuming we all need our own free time (for hobits, games, tv etc) And you add in travel time, sleep time (shld be at least 8 hrs), where got so much time. But on top of sch work, we have stuff liek CCA, 3rd lang.. And the school is always bombarding us with project work and tests and assignments. I remember my whole of sec4 wasted on crappy project work. knn

Students - Yar we as the students are damn fucked up also. Basically the environment is no good, and we get influenced, so we get worse, in a vicious cycle. You see so many ri students - immoral, vulgar, sick, lazy, ap etc etc. Top 3% in Singaporee.. woot.. My ass. And esp with thru train, we are getting worse. Like i've said, i am part of this fucked up student population too.

Campus - i think the campus is damn fucked up also. No hall. No canteen. No basketball/tennis courts etec. And places like jr blk, jr blk field, gym etc all fenced up with construction work. I mean, the whole sch just looks like a fucked up concrete site, with no liveliness or dynamism. No hall, the sch just never gather nowadays. No canteen, no place to interact too. No semid/field, no sports/games... And not to mentioned the fucked up paint, toilets etc

Fees - i think the fees system here is super fucked up too. Although we are on scholarship, it effectively means we are paying 200bucks to the sch each month already. And we are paying extra for maintenance (like electricity, water, aircon liao). Since we are paying so much, why aren't we getting a value for $ education? And on top of that, we are always aving to pay extra. KNN the sch still have patrons/old boys donating money, so why must we pay so much? Worksheets also must pay... zz. And all those trips / courses etc, we also have to pay. Fuck, so where did all the fucking money go?? And the sch still can ask us for donations... bullshit

The secret to high scores in Bio

How to prepare for Biology promos in just one day. Or one night, rather. You'd get what I mean later.

Here is the plan. But first we are assuming that you have the skin of humans, and it must be porous. Without pores, nothing goes in and nothing comes out. Biology involves the transfer of biological stuff at times, I do know, and in these transfers the least you can do is to provide a permeable membrane for the biological stuff to go through. I don't know if you'd term it steric hindrance, but basically to let stuff go through other stuff, the other stuff had better be permeable.

Well then, assuming that you have permeable skin, the only thing that you need to filter in is the Bio notes. Note that you can only carry out the reaction only if you haven't studied at all. For fagut muggers, you are not welcome to use this because it will only work against you.

Then again, if you are a fagut mugger, I doubt you'd be reading this. I only cater to the last-minute people who are aiming to get A without putting in effort. Like myself. Biology in 1 day is the ultimate guide for you.

Now that you have no knowledge of Biology and the notes are all there for you, all you have to do is to shrink them to a size of.. an atom. Or basically, you just need to shrink your notes to a very very very small size. Like perhaps Times New Roman size 0.000000001. Now the computer is not going to work at that sort of font size, and nor are you going to type out all your notes onto the computer before shrinking them.

So, you use a REAL shrinking device. THE WATER.

Stuffing all your notes happily into the water, you get an aqueous, concentrated solution of water. Only be careful not to put in too much water, we are here to absorb Bio notes not water.

Capillary action of water will see it flow from a higher place to a lower place. At night before you sleep, just stick your Bi0logy (aq) up somewhere and attach a DNA strand from the water down into the cerebral whatever of your brain. Basically just attach one side of the DNA strand to the water and another to your brand.

Yup, the DNA strand is optional, but it is used for good measure as the more biological the process gets, the more information you absorb. If you don't have any DNA strands, protein chains will also do. Don't do it with lipase as you might not pass your NAPFA after the night you rush Biology.

Go to sleep and wait. As Biology's law of diffusion goes, uh some things flow into some other things of different regions. Thus information must flow from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration. (That's why no mugging is required.) Wake up the next day feeling all enlightened, and you'd be very grateful to me.

Mugging time is where people form study groups. Like one C atom and 4 H atoms come together to form methane (the C atom is some buaya btw), it is possible for one super buaya boy to study with four girls at a time. However, like CH4 being highly ineffective in reaction with other substances (I think), the studying is usually ineffective. It has to lose at least one H atom before it can start reaction, no? But uh, utility level is very high.

On the other hand, one Na atom and one Cl atom might mug very well too. However, due to no other elements competing for reaction, bond length = short and thus reactivity level with other things would be.. low. Also not good for studying.

Either way, I think study groups don't work. But studying alone gives little motivation as well as more sleeping time. So there definitely has to be a solution.

Although I could be described as Ne or Ar or any other inert gas, the fact does not change that I do try to study. Now, the temptation for studying in groups also seems higher, because we could share our electrons and have electron transfer (information sharing) among each other. The only problem is that with boys, I tend to talk a lot of crap, and as electrons repel, we might end up arguing over a topic not worth arguing over.

Studying with girls admittedly might be more effective, but it invites scandals

Kentucky Fried Cruelty

Actually last night i was feeling quite bored, so i went to see all the anti-kfc campaigns...

Well, there were video footages on how the chickens were killed. Basically they were hung by their legs, carrid along something like a conveyor belt and scalded (and electrocuted in some cases i think) before they are supposed mutilated and used for cooking. It's all a mechanised slaughtering process.

Haha the gross parts was when the chickens weren't dead. In the first place, the chickens are all limp (and lame =P) cos their bones can't support their meat/muscles. then some din get killed, so it's like living hell for them... i mean being hung and nearly dying and getting screwed around... zz. And sometimes the mutilators whack them in the wrong places, so it's quite gross also la... eek

And there was this interesting part. Cos a man supervise the part where all the chickens are supposed to be dead liao. If he sees live chickens, he just go there and pluck the head off, throw on ground. It looks so simple but really a bit gross la...

But i think we can't really blame KFC la. They must be efficient if not their business will not work. That's why such severe methods are used to slaughter the chickens. And since the chickens are going to be killed anyway, killing them in a more "humane" way dosent exactly make a difference rite?

ut really, some of the chickens handlers are probably too stressed, so they do all kinds of crazy stuff with the chickens, as if they are softtoys. Like throw them around, pull out heads for fun, stamp on them.... lolz...
